A Quick Tour of the South Island: Glaciers

As Brittany and I drove South along the west coast to Franz Josef Glacier we stopped at the Pancake Rocks.

The first glacier we hiked to was Franz Josef glacier.

The hike was longer than expected…but it was a crazy sight to see.

Sadly, the glacier is melting fast and even since 2008 it has shrunk immensely.

Along the hike to the glacier were beautiful cascading waterfalls.

The above glacier is Fox Glacier…located 25 minutes south of Franz Josef.

When driving be careful of cows in the road!
